BMZ Project Manager

The purpose of the position is to manage a project funded with support from BMZ titled “Towards climate change action with nutrition co-benefits of vulnerable families in areas B and C in West Bank.” The project targets 30 communities situated in Hebron, the Jordan Valley, Salfit, and Tubas within Areas B and C, to be implemented over a 36 month period. The overall objective of the project is to "Contribute to enhancing climate resilience and nutritional outcomes of communities in Areas B and C in the West Bank through communication, capacity building and climate mitigation interventions among local stakeholders (SDG13)", the expected outcome is to “Strengthen climate-nutrition nexus among targeted vulnerable communities and key stakeholders through implementing of nutrition-sensitive and climate-friendly approaches for food systems in Area B & C West Bank”. The project manager is responsible for overall implementation of the project, including planning, delivery of activities, oversight and capacity building of the local partner, information management, donor compliance and reporting. This position is conditional on funding.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• University degree/background in Development, environment, agriculture or other related field “A degree in Project Management Cycle is an asset”.
• At least 5 years of progressive work experience in managing grants (experience managing  German government funding strongly preferred).
• Experience in project management cycle, planning and implementation using project management tools
• Experienced in developing M&E tools, quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
• Experience in managing project related to climate change, climate adaptation, climate-smart agriculture or agricultural projects designed to improve nutrition outcomes.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Excellent English written and spoken required
• Arabic written and spoken fluency.
• The position requires ability and willingness to travel up to 50% domestically to project sites.
