Business Development Specialist for East Jerusalem

Objectives

Chemonics is seeking a Business Development Specialist in East Jerusalem. The Consultant will help one of BREB’s beneficiaries to expand into the non-kosher market with diverse structures and business dynamics.

Responsibilities:

The Business Development expert is responsible for the following principal services and responsibilities:  

  1. Company Overview
    • Conduct meetings to understand Company’s products, prices, and targeted clients.
  2. Lead Generation and Client Acquisition
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in targeted sectors, including restaurant owners, supermarket managers, and food factory operators.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, from initial contact to closing deals.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to secure favorable deals.
  1. Order Management
  • Facilitate the placement of orders from clients, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work closely with the factory to ensure that orders are processed and prepared in a timely manner.
  1. Logistics Management
  • Oversee the delivery plans to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of products from the factory to the clients.
  • Arrange and optimize delivery schedules with the factory.
  • Address any logistical issues that arise during the transportation process to minimize disruptions and delays.
  1. Customer Follow-Up and Support
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure their needs are met and to gather feedback on product satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Identify key opportunities to meet client needs by analyzing customer feedback, purchasing patterns, and competitive offerings.

Deliverables:

  • Implementation Plan: prepare a comprehensive work plan outlining all activities to be carried out each month.
  • Monthly Progress report that includes Lead Identification, Lead Communication, Contracts, and Orders.

Level of Effort and Period of Performance

  • This short-term technical assistant (STTA) is for 60 days of level of efforts (LOE) over a period of 6 Months.
  • The consultant is expected to work part-time.
  • The location of this assignment will be in Israel.
  • Specific responsibilities and deliverables will be shared with short-listed candidates.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Proven experience in business development, preferably in the agribusiness or food industry.
  2. In-depth knowledge of the Israeli market and its relevant sectors.
  3. Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  4. Expertise in order management and logistics coordination.
  5. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
