BUSINESS PLANNING ADVISOR
START UP Palestine tackles the need for credit of vulnerable categories – such as women, young graduates and agricultural cooperatives. By channelling both financial and non financial services through already existing Palestinian financial institutions, the programme aims at encouraging and supporting micro and small entrepreneurship initiatives. The total budget of the initiative is EUR 21.8 million, out of which EUR 20 million as a soft loan and EUR 1.8 million as a grant.

Duty station: Ramallah
Travelling requirements:Frequent travelling inside the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (travelling expenses will be compensated)
Job objectives:
-To ensure that Business Development Services delivered within the START UP Palestine Program contribute to achieving the program’s objectives as of promoting employment through starting or scaling up micro and small businesses by the program’s beneficiaries
-To create and grow demand for the START UP Palestine Program financial services, through raising awareness among potential entrepreneurs and assisting existing SMEs in identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities, helping them to grow their businesses as well as generate new jobs
Required qualifications:
Education:
-Minimum bachelor’s degree in business-related subjects (Master’s degree is preferable), from a reputable university
Skills:
-Strong analytical skills
-Creative approach to problem solving
-High level of interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiating skills; able to demonstrate credibility to businesses
-Ability to produce professional written reports that explain relevant issues to businesses (program beneficiaries) and program stakeholders
-Ability to identify opportunities and to be innovative
-Strong planning, organizational, and administrative skills
-Ability to develop professional business plans, marketing plans, and business loan proposals
-Well-developed IT skills, including an understanding of computerized management information systems, spreadsheets, and e-mail
Experience:
-Proven track record in designing and delivering business development services to meet customers’ needs
-At least 5 years experience of providing advice and support to SMEs in a diverse range of sectors (including feasibility studies, business planning, investment planning, etc)
-Proven track record in business training (design, material development, delivery)
Knowledge:
-An understanding of the local private sector and specifics of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises
