ROLE PURPOSE:
Case Management Coordinator has the responsibility for providing support to the team, specifically within the case management activities (to be carried out with high quality, in a timely manner and with accurate support to the caseworkers on the case management steps and best practices) and MHPSS in the West Bank.
Mainly s/he will be responsible for supervising the Case Management supervisors and case workers working on the case management activities in their respective locations, support them on the implementation of the project by providing technical support to ensure child protection of the children in the project location; ensure the provision of quality mentoring, coaching, and supervision of caseworkers for quality case management delivery ; lead on case management meetings within the project team and with the other case management teams in the provincial location; supervise and participate in case conferences and case reviews, coordinate with relevant stakeholders involved in case management.
Case Management Coordinator will ensure that case management and MHPSS activities are consistent with SCI’s programming principles and approaches as well as with Global child protection standards & principles, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, to enable children to attain their rights and are compliant with donor regulations.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Humanitarian Program Manager.
Staff reporting to this post: Case Management Supervisor.
Budget Holding: None.
Role Dimensions: oPt CO is a high complexity country, multi-member interest, with an annual budget of around $40+m, and 100+ staff. Currently the program is experiencing a growth in funding and complexity due to the war in Gaza.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Key Area 1: Supervision and management of child protection case management and MHPSS services
- Support CM supervisors on the identification, assessment, documentation, case planning, service provision and referral (to relevant services) and follow-up of at-risk children and families.
- Ensure case management and MHPSS services are provided in line with the Inter-Agency Case management and MHPSS counselling Guidelines and other applicable Guidelines.
- Ensure appropriate support or referrals are provided to children identified by or referred to Save the Children
- Develop performance objectives with all CM Supervisors and provide regular feedback, one-to-one meetings and performance reviews.
- Facilitate weekly case management and MHPSS meetings with all supervisors.
- Facilitate monthly case management and MHPSS meetings with all supervisors and case workers to share best practices, challenges and lessons learned.
- Support the CM specialist in the ongoing capacity building of supervisors and Case Workers
- Identify training needs, develop and roll-out capacity building plan on child protection case management to Staff to carry out quality child protection programming.
- Proactively flag and report capacity-building needs and gaps to the Case Management Specialist and Child Protection Technical Advisor for support on tools and best practices
- Identify learning and training opportunities for Save the children staff on child protection.
- Share information on field-level successes and challenges with CM specialist and at Country Office level, with the Child Protection Technical Advisor.
- Ensure that major challenges are flagged early and addressed in an appropriate way.
Key Area 2: External and internal coordination and representation
- Support on and keep up to date a map of existing services to which children and families can be referred to. Build collaborative relationships with organization and service providers at the field level and support supervisors and Case Workers to ensure effective referrals and collaboration.
- Work with SCI field level team to ensure close links between case management and other thematic area of work.
- Ensure internal referral mechanisms (with other sectors, especially Health, Nutrition, Education and Food Security & Livelihoods) are in place and cases are appropriately managed and followed up when referred.
- Coordinate with other agencies offering case management services to children on referral and transfer of cases.
- Ensure constant and transparent communication and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including community members, community leaders and families.
Key Area 3: Data management and data protection principles
- Ensure that Case Workers respect confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines.
- Ensure that files, registers and computer databases are used in an appropriate and correct manner and ensure Case Workers adhere to SCI’s Information Sharing and Data Protection Protocol
- Ensure the case management and MHPSS tracker is kept up to date.
- Ensure accurate case files are completed and that case management and MHPSS counselling forms are utilized appropriately.
- Work closely with the monitoring and evaluation team, provide support to develop and implement appropriate monitoring, evaluation and learning systems for child protection interventions, ensure links to report requirements.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, child development/psychology, sociology, or another relevant field.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Experience and/or excellent understanding of child rights, child protection in emergencies, case management, psychosocial support, child and youth development, child and youth resilience and empowerment.
- At least +4 years’ experience in child protection and/ or working with vulnerable families, caregivers, communities, and individuals.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and capacity to maintain relations with government officials, partners, community leaders, children, and youth.
- At least two years of experience in managing projects, including supervision of staff.
- In-depth experience in training development and delivery, including Child Protection and Case Management.
- Proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Commitment to and understanding of the organization's aims, values, and principles including rights-based approaches and child safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours and spend time in the field, sometimes in difficult conditions and with limited resources, and with remote management.
- Good understanding of the West Bank region, key decision makers, and context.
- Good knowledge of Arabic, and English.
Desirable
- Experience in designing and facilitating training and capacity building.
- The capacity and willingness to be flexible and accommodating in sometimes difficult working circumstances.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding principles and approaches, as well as principles of do no harm and confidentiality.
- Valid driving licence.
