The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza is looking for candidates to fill the
following position:
Function: Cashier / Secretary
Department: Administration
Reporting line Finance Responsible
Place of Employment : Gaza
About ICRC
The ICRC, established in 1863, works worldwide to provide humanitarian help for people affected by conflict and armed violence and to promote the laws that protect victims of war.
General Duties and Responsibilities
-Handles all cash disbursement of the sub-delegation
-Ensures respect of ICRC financial procedures and guide lines and is able to explain them to other
departments
-Performs various office works such as typing, filing, mail preparation and distribution, photocopies,
updates of lists
Main tasks
-Controls all invoices prior to payment (cash or cheques)
-Performs daily cash control and prepares the funds request between the finance responsible and
the cashier's safe to ensure availability of cash
-Prepares daily cash report for the finance responsible
-Assists the finance responsible in establishing complete accounting documents, including invoices
-Prepares all regular invoice related to the administration department (water, electricity, phone bills,
etc)
-Ensures proper filling system of cash related documents (cash statements, journals, etc.)
-Prepares bank correspondence
-Assist the administrator for any secretarial support related to the sub delegation (meeting room
booking, restaurant booking, travel arrangement, etc.) as well as related to visitors (accommodation, etc)
Qualification required for the post
-Secretary diploma and/or business administration education
-2 years work experience in a similar field
-Good computer skills
-Good command of written and spoken English
-Rigorous, trustful and service orientated person
-Is motivated and can work autonomously, and as part of a team
-Effective communicator with an ability to liaise and cooperate with other colleagues at various level of the organisation
In accordance with the Resolution No. 17, 2010 of the Gaza Ministry of Interior, applicants who
have a running contract with a Ministry will not be selected.
