JOB VACANCY
Terre des hommes Foundation - Lausanne is a Swiss-based international non governmental
organisation dedicated to children’s assistance and protection.
Position: Child Protection Expert (CPE)
Location: Gaza Strip
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Technical Unit Coordinator, the CPE’s specific responsibilities
include:
• As a key member of the Mapping Tool Development Task Force, and under the supervision
of the Secretariat for Mapping based at the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), the CPE will
design, implement, and coordinate all activities associated with mapping all social welfare
agencies in Gaza focusing on children, and provide the Secretariat with regular progress
reports.
• Together with the Technical Unit Coordinator, the CPE will interface with the MoSA focal
points responsible for the supervision of the Child Protection Networks (CPNs) in Gaza on
a regular basis to assess their management capacity building needs and design and implement
appropriate supervision training plans, monitor progress towards established capacity
building goals and make adjustments as necessary.
• The CPE will assist TdH Field Monitors at assessing current skill levels of Social Workers
based at 21 Family Centers to perform high quality and comprehensive child protection case
management and design and implement need-based skill-building and training. .
• The CPE will assist the Technical Unit Coordinator at assessing the supervisory skills of the
Field Monitors and facilitate needs-based training activities.
• The CPE will attend Child Protection Working Group (CPWG) and Mental Health &
Psychosocial Support Working Group (MHPSS WG) meetings as scheduled by Cluster
Leaders and any other relevant system-wide meetings associated to this project.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCES
• Masters in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, Community Studies or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in applied Child Protection or relevant
neighboring social affairs discipline
• Full computer literacy (MS office, database applications, etc.)
• Very good command of written and spoken English.
• Pronounced professional motivation to contribute to the consistent improvement of Gaza
Child Protection management at governmental, non-governmental and networking level

• Very well organized and able to work to tight deadlines
• Work in a high performing team with a huge sense of fairness and respect
