SOS Children’s Village Bethlehem seeks to recruit:

Position:Child Psychologist
Location:SOS Children’s Village Bethlehem

Position summary: The role of the child psychologist is essential in securing support for children and their SOS Mothers. The child psychologist reports directly to the FBC Coordinator and works in close coordination with the Village Pedagogical Committee; social worker and educator. This position ensures quality care for children within SOS Children’s Village.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
-Provide psychological support to our target group according to SOS Children’s Villages International principles and policies.
-Support the implementation of psycho-education activities within the target group.
-Undertake the social investigation about each individual child case and ensure that all related information is collected properly through reliable sources.
-Ensure proper integration for the child within the village.
-Conduct training for SOS Mothers on psychological child development.
-Provide support to SOS Mothers to participate actively in the child development plan.
-Guide and support the children and engage them progressively in their child development plan.
-Apply child protection policies and procedures.
-Diagnose, intervene and follow up psychological situation of the child.
-Ability to conduct individual and group therapy sessions.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in psychology
-Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
-Fluency in both English and Arabic
-Ability to work under pressure in a team environment
-Reporting and communication skills
