Child Welfare Programme Manager
Islamic Relief is a humanitarian INGO (www.irpal.ps) operating in Palestine in the fields of emergency relief and long-term development. Islamic Relief announces the following vacancy for its office in West Bank.
Title: Child Welfare Programme Manager (CWPM)
Ref: CWPM -WB-12-2013
Location: Ramallah
Duration: one year – renewable (full time)
Overall responsibilities
Responsible for the overall management of IRPAL/ WB Child Welfare activities in a professional and efficient manner, including providing guidance on the strategic expansion of the programme, identifying appropriate areas and sectors of intervention and preparing proposals for such interventions.
Main Duties:
1-To be the child-protection focal point for IRPAL/WB, and take a leading role in investigations into allegations of abuse to act as designated.
2-Monitor and Evaluate existing Child Welfare Programme in WB.
3-Provide technical assistance and advice in the production of Child welfare reports & bio-data’s, standardizing them throughout the region.
4-Provide training on Child Protection.
5-Prepare strategy and annual plans for the Child Welfare Programme.
6-Develop and present proposals in co-ordination with the HoP regarding various areas of intervention in WB.
7-Provide technical assistance to develop Orphans General Fund (OGF) projects
8-Initiate and manage projects once IR Headquarter has given approval.
9-Responsible for providing direction and management to related field staff, including the development of job descriptions and work plans.
10-Create and maintain a database of local and international NGOs and agencies working in the same field and coordinate with them to exchange information and maintain lively contacts and relations.
Candidates must possess the following competencies:
-Bachelor degree in education, management, social development or other related field. post graduate is preferably
-Minimum 7 years’ experience of working in a similar role with INGOs.
-Proven track record of field work experience with INGOs in developing countries in rehabilitation; development and emergency contexts.
-A proven experience of effective project design, budget control and management.
-Experience of successfully fundraising and dealing with institutional donors and international donors.
-Excellent written and spoken English.
-Strong communication, interpersonal & technical skills.
-Ability to multi-task effectively as well as display professionalism and confidence.
-Experience of advocacy, networking and communications work.
-analyses and assess complex situations and develop policies
-An in-depth understanding of child welfare issues in particular in relation to international development context
-Working approaches with women and children in relief and recovery.
