About IREX:

IREX is an international non-profit organization providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally. In the West Bank, IREX is implementing the Partnerships with Youth (PWY) program, which aims to provide Palestinian youth with increased opportunities to realize their potential to effectively contribute to social and economic development in their communities. The PWY program works to achieve this objective by creating sustainable hubs for youth innovation and learning called Youth Development Resource Centres (YDRCs).

About the YDRCs:

The YDRCs work to expand educational and leadership opportunities for Palestinian youth age 14-29 throughout the West Bank to develop their personal and technical skills, and to increase their engagement in their communities. The YDRCs offer training and other activities in areas such as leadership, media, ICT, employability, and sports and cultural activities.

Summary of Consulting Position:

IREX intends to hire a communication and marketing consultant for short-term consultancy to coach and train the YDRCs in how to create creative communication materials and in developing their communication plans. The consultant will conduct a workshop to help the YDRCs improve the content of their communication materials (e.g. brochure, promotional videos, newsletter, fact sheets, etc.), utilizing innovative communication and marketing methodologies and techniques. The consultant will work closely with IREX staff, the YDRCs’ board members, executive directors and coordinators, as well as other staff to develop engaging communication materials.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Conduct workshop for the YDRCs to enhance their communication materials and strategies.
Work in close cooperation with the IREX staff and YDRC directors/staff to develop new or improve existing communications materials, including but not limited to promotional brochures, website/social media content, and videos.
Utilize innovative communication methodologies and techniques that will help the YDRC to better market themselves and their activities to their identified target audiences.
Provide technical consultation, coaching, and on-site assistance to the YDRCs to help to complete their communication materials.
Support YDRCs to create or finalize the YDRCs communication strategies and plans

University degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field;
Extensive experience in graphic design and the production of promotional materials
Strong background in digital media as a marketing and outreach tool
Minimum of five years of experience in communication, marketing, and public relations;
Previous experience developing communications materials for a variety of organizations/institutions;
Experience facilitating/leading workshops for NGOs/CBOs;
An exceptional writing skills in English and Arabic;
Strong presentation and oral communication skills in English and Arabic; and
Creative thinker and strong interpersonal skills.
