Communication officer for Social Media & Media Monitoring

The ICRC also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening the humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
The ICRC in Jerusalem is looking for potential candidates to fill in the following position
Function : Communication officer for Social Media & Media Monitoring
Place of employment : Jerusalem
Occupation rate : 100% - Full time
Type of Contract : Unlimited
Starting Date : 01 November 2013
Main duties and responsibilities
-Helps design, build, manage and animate ICRC’s social media platforms in IL/OT;
-Defines and implements strategies to engage key audiences via social media, in line with ICRC’s
strategic communication priorities;
-Initiates and produces media and multimedia content;
-Develops strategies to strengthen ICRC's presence in the Palestinian social media environment;
-Participates in strategic communication planning with the department and the delegation;
-Remains constantly up to date on the socio-political situation of the context;
-Develops and improves environment scanning / media monitoring guidelines and workflows
with special attention to specific issues identified by the delegation.
-Compiles the delegation's news alerts, daily, weekly and monthly media monitoring reports
and media analysis in collaboration with communication colleagues in TEL, WB and Gaza
-Contributes to other communication and information related issues of the department
Education and experience requirements
-University degree in journalism, media communication or public relations
-3 years work experience in a similar field
Profile and skills required
-Fluent in written and spoken Arabic, English and Hebrew
-Very good analytical and writing skills
-Confirmed capacity to analyse the political and social environment
-Strong technical skills in online tools, multimedia production tools and service
-Clean driving license
