Chemonics International seeks an experienced Communications Advisor for the USAID-funded Trade, Investment, and Finance Activity (TIFA) in the West Bank and Gaza. The Communications Advisor will provide a wide range of writing, communications, editing, and other services to the project, working closely with the technical team and management. The advisor will bare primary responsibility for numerous reporting documents including quarterly and annual reports, support writing of work plans and other documents, develop presentations, and write a range of communications materials directed at USAID and various other audiences, including visual (photos, videos) and written communications. In this light, the advisor will regularly prepare short stories on project activities and beneficiaries. The advisor will also support teams by editing key program documents.

This position will be based in Ramallah. We are looking for dynamic individuals with a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

RESPONSIBILITES:

The Communications Advisor key responsibilities includes, though are not limited to, the following:

  • Compile and write project reports with input from all teams, including quarterly and annual reports, work plans, and other technical deliverables as required by USAID, collaborating closely with project management for review and finalization.
  • Regularly identify and write success stories that highlights project activities and beneficiaries, coordinating with staff and external photographers or videographers as needed to implement creative storytelling approaches.
  • In consultation with USAID and project staff, create presentations, materials, and templates to effectively communicate project activities, successes, and narratives, utilizing formats such as PowerPoint presentations, infographics, and photography. 
  • Edit English-language documents and produce final products that align with project, USAID, and Chemonics graphical standards.
  • Develop and maintain a high-quality catalog of program photographs for use in reports and presentations. Select, assign, and oversee external photographers, graphic designers, and videographers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field required
  • Experience in West Bank/Gaza and knowledge of the economics and politics of the West Bank/Gaza strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years working in communication or related areas, with a particular emphasis on writing and developing high quality communications materials, photography, reports, and other documents.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite are required.
  • Understanding of USAID rules and regulations related to communications programs 
  • Native fluency in written and spoken English required with the ability to speak Arabic preferred.
