Job Title:Communications & Reporting Officer(CRO)
Immediate Supervisor: Deputy Chief of Party
Working Hours/Days: 40 hours per week: 8:00-4:00 Sunday-Thursday.
Flex time may be necessary, such as working on occasional Saturdays, depending on the needs of the job.
The Communications and Reporting Officer is responsible for raising the profile of the School Support Program (SSP) among the Palestinian communityand USAID. S/he reports to the Deputy Chief of Party. S/he will assist in developing and implementing SSP’soutreach and communication strategy and publicizing program activities and achievements.
Specifically, the CRO is responsible for the following duties.
Communications
-Develop, implement and monitor an outreach and communications strategy to facilitate better understanding of SSP and program progress and achievements among stakeholders.
-Undertake field visits to gather the information, photos and successes related to the program.
-Develop, produce,and disseminate PR materials such as leaflets, brochures, posters, roll-ups, press releases, success stories on social media, branded materials, and quarterly newsletters; maintain and update content onAMIDEAST’s SSP web page.
-Capture and share photo documentation of all key activities with SSP’s beneficiaries and target audience.
-Coordinate with media contractors on multimedia productions, including videos and radio ads.
-Assist in preparation of program presentation/s to partners, including USAID.
-Maintain an effective filing system for documentation on all program experience, activities and results.
Reporting
-With input from the program managers, help present high quality ad-hoc, quarterly and annual progress reports, ensuring adherence to donor-specified content and deadlines.
-Provide high-quality editing and formatting for all program-related documents including but not limited to quarterlies and presentations.
-Support program staff in organizing and managing seminars, workshops, press conferences and field visits.
-Ensurethat all materials comply with AMIDEAST and USAID branding and marketing policies.
-Identify and document lessons learned; collect information for case studies from the field; prepare for and write success stories.
-Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor as per the needs of the program.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, journalism, social sciences or related areas.
-Five years’ relevant experience in communications strategies and techniques, reporting, documentation, publication, and audio-visual material preparation in relation to development fields.
-Excellentwriting, editing, and speaking skills in both English and Arabic.
Skills and Competencies:
-Report writing in both Arabic and English.
-Interpersonal ability to work in a team.
-Well versed in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; proficiency in a desktop publishing program preferred.
-Demonstrate capacity to plan, prioritize and deliver tasks on time in a high pressure environment.
-Confidence in dealing with high ranking government officials and representatives of local and international institutions.
