Communications Specialist
General Description
The Communications Specialist will focus on devising and implementing media plans and PR activities to promote CHF programs with its stakeholders and to maximize media and PR exposure though using a variety of PR tools. He/She will also provide administrative, logistical and substantive support to CHF aimed at strengthening relations between CHF and its strategic partners and enhancing internal communication, including between its field offices. The post is stationed in Ramallah with travel to all field locations.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop CHF media plan in conjunction with the M&E/Reporting Specialist and senior staff managers
-Develop and manage outreach efforts to enhance visibility and media overage
-Develop relationships with media and maintain current contact information.
-Keep up-to-date information, fact sheets, and statistics on CHF activities
-Manage an image database for all programs
-Provide consistent and immediate responses to media requests
-Prepare for and host special media and public events.
-Draft press releases, newsletters, promotional materials, etc.
-Assist in the preparation and drafting of CHF periodic reports & publications.
-Regularly update the CHF website
-Manage the process of producing and distributing press materials, brochures, public awareness materials, etc as well as quality assurance of printed and audiovisual materials
-In coordination with the program staff conduct regular field visits to capture human impact stories, take photographs and get a sense of the field and programs to facilitate strong messages for reports and visibility material.
-Advise partners in planning for and management of media related events
-Ensure compliance of project publications, activities and partners to donor branding and visibility requirements.
-Plan and Manage CHF related Events of project inauguration, workshops, training and sessions.
-Represent CHF International in different coalitions, groups, committees meetings.
Key Qualifications, Experience and Skills
-BA or Master's degree in a related field (Public Relations, Communication, Media Studies, etc).
-At least 3-5 years experience in a similar post
-Significant PR experience and a good track record either in an agency or in-house
-Experience or organizing media events, using various PR techniques and with a wide range of media outlets
-Strong computer, editorial, design, layout and publishing skills
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-Excellent written and verbal skills in both Arabic and English Language.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously
-Experience in working with donors and USAID-funded projects is a plus.
-Willingness to travel extensively to various regions of the West Bank.
