Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF – Doctors Without Borders) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries to populations in distress, to victims of natural or manmade disasters and to victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and irrespective of religion, creed or political affiliation. To develop this work from Tulkarm/Jenin Mobile Clinic, we are recruiting a Nursing Team Supervisor.
 
Main Purpose
Providing optimal preventive and psychosocial aid to people with mental health and psychosocial needs at community level according to MSF principles, standards, and procedures in order to provide the most ap-propriate mental health support for patients.
 
Accountabilities
•    Providing information and education to the affected population on mental health/psychosocial (psycho- 
     education), according to specific needs
•    Working together with other team members to prepare/produce various mental health psychosocial
     education messages/topics, according to specific groups and needs e.g. caretakers of malnourished 
     children, population affected by armed conflict, etc.
•    Identifying and appropriately referring patients who need medical or mental health assistance and  
     providing psychological first aid to identified community members in need.
•    Organizing supportive activities in the community (art for children, discussion sessions, etc.), if required.
•    Ensuring that all patients attending MSF activities are well informed about services provided.
•    Visiting families in their home/tent/shelter if required, in order to facilitate defaulters' tracing or to offer
     psycho-education.
•    Attending supervision sessions and educational sessions with members of the team.
•    Maintaining monitoring data and producing regular work reports to the supervisor.
•    Provision of PFA and/or crisis intervention for affected communities, also in collaboration with external
     actors if/when needed
•    Conduct PSS group sessions at identified and agreed locations such as hospitals, refugee camps, city,
     shelters, etc depending on the needs and contribute to the community engagement. Refer to the
     psychologists when present signs and/or signs that require further assessment
•    Provide individual, group and/or family awareness sessions with identified population/locations and refer
     to the psychologists when present signs and/or signs that require further assessment
•    Provide individual group and/or family psychoeducations on defined mental health topics/locations and
     refer to the psychologists when present signs and/or signs that require further assessment
•    Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to support the mental health activities
•    Understand the strategy and orgnize the activities in line with MSF’s strategic goals
•    Timely communicate, plan and schedule MH activities approved by MHS/MHAM.
•    Actively participate in learning activities such MHS and/or MHAM’s trainings, supervisions, case
     discussions etc.
•    Produce and submit timely to the MHAM the reports of all activities provided on a weekly base (or
     according to the other requested deadlines)
•    Address requests from the MHS / MHAM promptly and whitin the required timeframe
•    In collaboration and under the supervision of MHS and/or MHAM, contributes in creating training
     material according to topics and target populations
•    Promptly communicate to the MHAM and/or MHS information related to security concerns
•    Accept to travel and work in both project locations (Jenin and Tulkarem), according to the needs.
•    Accept additional tasks and responsibility that can be requested, according to the evolution of the
     medical activities in the project.  
 
* The position is based on Tulkarem and this time we need those who live in Tulkarem or can relocate to Tulkarem.

متطلبات الوظيفة
Education    •     No specific degree required; desirable bachelor’s in social science, sociology, social
                            welfare, psychology, education, medical, para-medical, or similar bachelor.
 
Experience   •    Preferably coming from the beneficiaries’ community and well accepted
                      •    Desired experience in community and/or social work
                      •    Desirable previous experience with INGOS.
                      •    Desirable experience providing trainings or TOT

Language    •    Arabic and English
 
Knowledge  •    Desired knowledge of the affected population
                      •    Strong communication, organizational and social skills (attentive listening, open attitude,
                           empathy, sensitivity)
                      •    Capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team
                      •    Initiative, creativity and flexibility
                      •    Capacity to adjustment to change
                      •    Interest in helping vulnerable population
