Consultancy: Baseline study for Women Run School Canteens Project Phase III
Deadline for submitting offers: May 8th, 2013
In collaboration with UN Women and the Ministry of Education (MoE), MA’AN Development Center is currently implementing the Women Run School Canteen Project phase III (WRSCP). The project specifically aims to support women run community based organizations (CBOs) to provide healthy nutritious food within the targeted schools. The project contributes to rural women’s social and economic empowerment, giving poor and rural women the proper mechanisms for the establishment of small, sustainable businesses through local women’s CBOs and cooperatives. Through strengthening the capacity of women-run school canteen businesses, rural women will become economically active through unified product development, and access to necessary equipment and networking, all of which will focus on creating work opportunities for these women and thus contributing to women’s increased economic security.
During the previous years, the program had been successfully implemented in over 209 schools and in partnership with 32 CBOs. The current phase will include 24 new CBOs in the life cycle three years, managing a total of 125 schools.
MA'AN Development Center is seeking a consultant to conduct a baseline study before the start of project’s activities. The study is expected to provide baseline information to complement the monitoring and evaluation framework from which the project’s impact can be accurately assessed upon project completion.
