Consultant for a psychotherapy awareness campaign (Part Time) / Hebron Office 

Green Land Society for Health Development (GLSHD); is a Non-profit organization established in 2007, Hebron. It aims to raise the level of health and environmental conditions in Palestine, in addition to raising the level of preparedness in disasters management, through awareness campaigns, research, and provision of health and environmental services in areas of need in Palestine. 

GLSHD is accepting CVSs for interested and qualified potential candidates for the position of consultant to conduct the design and implementation of an awareness campaign in the mental health sector for a period of one year. This activity is part of an EU peacebuilding funded action entitled “Improvement of mental health care and treatment for conflict affected children and adolescents in East Jerusalem West bank, Gaza and Israel”. This project began on July 2020 and will terminate on the end of December 2023.

GLSHD is continuing to launch its awareness activities addressing mental health care and treatment of conflict affected children during 2022. The purpose of the awareness campaign is to create a better community approaches and understanding towards mental health care in children and adolescents and particularly more focus on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) concept, signs, symptoms and its effect on the mental health status. The campaign is focused on media materials about how mental health treatment in children and adolescents can help and encourage the general public to reach out to someone and share the information GLSHD will design. GLSHD will launch the campaign and use different methods and materials such as, workshops, training of trainers, publications, social media, videos, printed flyers and leaflets, etc. The consultant will assist to design and produce   all the relevant contents of the tools and materials for the awareness campaign, including manuals, flyers, posters, footage and video production. The materials shall be in Arabic with translation into English Language.  The campaign will target the general public to help us spread the word and destigmatize mental health issues in children and adolescents and encourage the Palestinian population to turn to professional providers. Every family with a child or adolescent with a mental health disorder e.g. PTSD, needs to know that treatments really do work and can lead to a better quality of life. The participants of the training will join as pro-active educators to convey the key messages to their local communities and organize meetings in their workplaces to take effective measures to assist in alleviation of the effects of these mental health disorders.

Requested qualification for this post is 

• Consultancy level of education, masters or PhD, in public health, mental health or psychotherapy  
• Excellent command of written and spoken English 
• Experience in NGO work 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Previous experience in outreach, social campaigns and similar activities
