Consultant on Gender Based Violence

The Gender Based Violence Consultant (GBVC) will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, overall technical and management assistance to the development of a strategy and action plan to fight violence against women within broader development
frameworks; developing new initiatives in line with the strategy and action plan; ensure flow of information regarding all issues related to VAW within the UNIFEM programme; facilitate discussion on strategies, plans and activities related to violence against women among relevant stakeholders and as indicated by the supervisor; liaising between UNIFEM and key stakeholders; assist in the formulation and in the implementation of projects related to VAW. Bachelor degree in social sciences and/or development studies. Advanced university degree in social work, gender studies or related field. Thorough proved understanding of gender-based violence theory and practice. Demonstrated leadership, communication, facilitation and networking skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. A minimum of 3 years of working experience in the field of gender-related issues and violence against women. Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Arabic
