REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
(CONSULTING SERVICES – individual Consultant)

Assignment Title:  Implementation of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage within the Ministry of Culture (MoC)

The Palestinian Authority has received financing from the Government of the Kingdom of Belgium toward the cost of the “Study, Consultancy and Expertise Fund- ICP 2012-2015, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services aim to implement the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).

The consulting services (“the Services”) include:
-Training in Convention mechanisms for safeguarding characteristics and issues;
-Establishment of appropriate structures at the national level;
-Awareness-raising among communities and peoples in general.

The full ToR can be provided upon request.

The assignment shall be completed within a maximum of four calendar months.

The Ministry of Culture now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are:
-Academic background relevant for this assignment.
-Knowledge of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (UNESCO) and its implementation in MENA region.
-Knowledge of organizational development and quality management system; institutional reform issues and development;

The expression of interest shall be submitted with a comprehensive CV and a description of similar assignments (all in English).

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition) - selection of Individual Consultants
