Coordinator for Health Projects

The GIZ Programme “Open Regional Fund for MENA” (ORF-MENA) in Ramallah is seeking to fill the full-time position (40 hours/week) of a Coordinator for Health Projects for a contract period that starts on 01.12.2015 and ends on 31.12.2016.
The ORF-MENA is a GIZ programme implemented on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It aims at enhancing cross-border cooperation in the Middle East by establishing Arab-Arab cooperation projects between partners from Jordan, Lebanon, the Palestinian Territories and Syria.
Responsibilities
Mental Health Training Program (MHTP)
-Integration of mental health in primary healthcare;
-Cognitive-behavioral therapy as a low-intensity intervention for secondary care professionals;
-School-based programs on psychological support.
Introducing Telemedicine in the Palestine Medical Relief Services (PMRS) Non-Communicable disease centers
The Project Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the project which aims at:
-Linking the PMRS non-communicable disease centers in Ramallah and Gaza with secondary care hospitals;
-Using the telemedicine application to link Palestinian physicians living in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip with Palestinian physicians living in Jordan and other countries (through established PMRS networks).
Programme Gender Focal Point
The holder of the post assumes the responsibilities of the ORF Programme Gender Focal Point.
Required qualifications
Qualifications
-BA/BSc, preferably in public health, or business administration
Professional experience
-3-5 years of experience working in project management, preferably in the health sector, private-sector development, or development cooperation
Other knowledge, additional competences
-High-level project management, communication and networking skills
-Advanced experience with software applications
-Native Arabic speaker, fluent written and spoken English is required
-Ability to travel to Jordan
