JOB TITLE: coordinator to organize irrigation with wastewater
The Palestinian Farmers Union (PFU) is implementing a project co-funded by the Spanish
and French Cooperation Offices in partnership with APY and the Palestinian Hydrology
Group (PHG).
In an area that was heavily damaged by the Israeli military operation Cast Lead, the project
aims at restarting an income generating activity for the farmers, as well as using alternative
water resources in the context of water crisis that prevails in the Gaza Strip. This project
consists in irrigating agricultural land with partially treated wastewater and to develop an
adapted organizational scheme for the water distribution among farmers.

Job Description
The Palestinian Farmers Union is seeking for an employee who will be in charge of defining and refining the organization schemes of the farmers using waste water for irrigation. For that purpose, he will have to understand clearly the context and the links that exist among the farmers as well as the objectives of all the stakeholders. He will work on a daily basis with the beneficiaries in order to achieve the most adapted water distribution organizational schemes.

Required qualifications and experience
-Agronomist (at least B.A) / irrigation specialist
-Previous experience in related fields
-Dynamic and highly motivated by field work
-Excellent communication skills, especially with farmers
-Good understanding of farmers’ socio-economic situation
-Excellent sense of organization
-Ability to work in a team as well as being autonomous at work
-Previous experience working with local or international organizations will be highly appreciated
-Good level of English
-Valid driving license
