COSPE | Local Consultant IGA

COSPE is a private, lay, non-profit organization created in 1983 in Florence, Italy; now COSPE achieves more than 100 projects in almost 30 countries in the world. COSPE has been working in
Palestine since 1995, developing interventions focusing on the rights and empowerment of two
specific targets: women and youth. PYU (Palestinian Youth Union), is a Palestinian association with
headquarter in Ramallah and several field offices in the whole West Bank and Gaza Strip, committed to promote the process of democratic participation within the Palestinian society.
COSPE, in partnership with PYU, in April 2010 started a two years project funded by the European
Union “Youth and Women Empowerment in West Bank rural area through Community Centers”. In the framework of the project 6 Palestinian Community Centers, located in the villages of Kobar, Silwad, Aboud, Mazare’al Noubani, Beit Reema (Ramallah) and Derestia (Salfit) will be supported through different actions. In particular, in each centre will be identified a pilot income generating project to be implemented in the targeted villages by resident young boys or girls. Once the small projects will be established and working, they will contribute to the centers’ sustainability.

Qualifications, Skils and Experie nce :
-Master degree or equivalent in Economics, Social Studies or related field;
-Minimum five years of relevant experience, preferably in similar positions and with international GOs or NGOs;
-Proved experience in skills training activities and team management;
-Excellent interpersonal, communication and reporting skills;
-Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
-Excellent computer literacy;
-Ability to work for long hours, under pressure and in multicultural environment;
-Ability to travel extensively in West Bank to reach the project locations;
-Ability to conduct desk work from private office/home.
-Driving license and owned private car will be an asset

SPECIFIC DUT IES AND RESPON SIBILITIES:
-Supervision of IGAs beneficiaries selection, in coordination with the centre coordinators;
-Realisation of feasibility studies in the targeted villages;
-Realisation of a SYB Training Course and its follow up for the youth in charge of the 6 small IG projects;
-Preparation of a training manual;
-Supervision of start up and implementation of 6 small IG projects;
-Work under the supervision of Project Manager and Local Project coordinator.
-Coordinate with all the relevant stakeholders and support when necessary networking activities at local and national level.
- Report periodically in English and Arabic.

Terms of Office: 9 months, starting immediately
