COUNTERPART DAY CARE COORDINATOR

Mission JEMIMA
Jemima primarily focus on care for children and young adults with special needs in the Palestinian Territories. Local employees provide care from their Christian concern and professionalism. They cooperate with specialized foreign volunteers.
Loving-kindness and development are spearheads in the care. In a warm and safe environment all beneficiaries and employees are stimulated to use their potential of skills and work on development. Using rhythm and daily events gives the opportunity to integrate care, therapy and learning out of experience.

Eber is the day care centre of Jemima for external children and internal (adult) residents. Around 36
mentally and multiple challenged participants enjoy the day care from Monday till Friday each week.
The workers in Eber accept them as they are and work together to find ways for each unique person to develop. Also Jemima itself is developing from a mostly Dutch to a mostly Palestinian organization.

During 1 to 1,5 year the Counterpart Day Care Coordinator gets trained on the job to become the Day Care Coordinator in Jemima. After a positive evaluation the counterpart will get a fixed contract and will commit him-/her self for at least five years.

Tasks & responsibilities
-Guiding and coaching an enthusiastic team of workers
-Being responsible for the content of the education and activities in the total of the Day care
-Being responsible for the contacts with the families
-Represent Jemima to the families and other organizations
-Participate in policy development for the future

We search for someone with:
-Vision on mentally challenged people
-Experience with the target group
-Experience with guiding and coaching workers
-Christian concern and charity
-Empathy
-Willingness to learn from mistakes and feedback
-Stable personality
-Education on BA level or proven understanding and Experience level of BA in Social work

We offer:
