Position Announcement:
KinderUSA/EU is seeking an individual with knowledge and expertise to work on behalf of Kinder and other members of the Kinder network to provide managerial and programmatic oversight while monitoring partner project implementation, working with partners to measure impact, and calibrate program strategy and implementation accordingly.
Background of Kinder USA:
KinderUSA is a nonsectarian, nonpolitical international humanitarian organization, founded in 2002 by group of US-based Muslim physicians and relief workers. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of children in the occupied Palestinian territory and beyond through development, education, health and relief interventions. We carry out our work in creative partnership with community based nonprofit organizations (CBO) in the places where we work: the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Lebanon. Kinder USA has an office in Jerusalem and a partner organization in Belgium, Kinder EU.
In Country Profile:
Kinder USA/EU has worked with and delivered grants to community based organizations in Gaza and the West Bank since its inception in 2002 delivering over $6 million dollars in aid over this period with our focus on the children. Kinder USA has implemented relief, psychosocial, and education projects with many innovative CBO’s that share our compassion for children. Kinder USA is registered with the PA.
Position Profile:
The Country Associate (CA) is responsible for oversight, organizing, assisting and supporting Kinder’s grant-funded partners in the Gaza Strip. This will be accomplished through coordinating and communicating with partners as well as frequent travel to field sites. The CA will manage partner relationships and coordinate with the Jerusalem office to ensure projects/programs achieve results according to plan.
Responsibilities will include (not exhaustive):
1-Ensure Kinder representation in the areas of operation
-Manage effective relationships with principle partners, ensuring maximum visibility in the NGO community
-Undertake networking, relationship-building and identification of issues in order to prepare for dialogue and discussion
-Participate in inter-NGO coordination meetings, UN Agencies, and any other relevant inter-nongovernmental coordination meetings
-Liaise with counterparts and project principles for any requirements
-Identify and solicit proposals from new potential partners
2-Oversee project implementation of partners and management
-Provide technical and professional support to partners as needed
-Ensure partner organizations remain within initial design, budget, and purpose of project providing input where and when needed
-Work closely with partners to monitor and evaluate projects with particular emphasis on appropriate processes, performance, and outcomes
-Ensure timely and good quality reporting – coordinating collection, finalization, and timely submission of narratives and financials
-Oversee impact assessments reporting back for internal (Board of Directors) and external (donors) stakeholders
3-Reporting, communications, filings
-Monthly, timely updates submitted to Jerusalem office
-Maintain all necessary administrative reporting and functions
-Progress reporting and recommendations on partner operations
-Ensure the compiling, copying, and archiving of project reports
-Coordinate timely and accurate supply of information to ensure Kinder’s website is kept updated with project/program and emergency related information
-Gather and analyze information regarding opportunities and risk
-Review incoming operational and financial reporting for completeness, accuracy, and compliance as needed for submission to headquarters ensuring high quality for reproduction
-Quality picture documentation of project activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s level education in a relevant field or relevant work experience; minimum 5 years experience in the field monitoring/evaluation and reporting; impeccable English skills both oral and written; Arabic language fluency a must; excellent network and high level representation skills with ability to build effective relationships; good grasp of technical skills and administrative software; excellent coordination skills; ability to work well meeting deadlines on your own.
