Data and ICT Support Associate

Position Title: Data and ICT Support Associate

Line Manager: Emergency Projects Manager  

Status: Part Time (25h/week) Limited contract until the end of the year.

Location: Bethlehem

Position Summary:

Ensure seamless data management and ICT systems integration, support data-driven decision-making, and maintain robust, secure IT infrastructure. Provide reliable technical support and optimize data processes to enhance organizational efficiency and security.

Main clients:

  • Monitoring & Evaluation staff
  • Project Cycle Management staff.
  • Member of programme & Project location.
  • ER Projects Manager.
  • ICT Manager.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

Data Management:

·       Collect, clean, and analyse data to support various departments.

·       Maintain and update databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

·       Generate reports and dashboards to present data insights to management.

·       Assist in developing data collection systems and strategies to optimize data quality and efficiency.

·       Ensure data security and confidentiality by adhering to organizational policies and best practices.

Coordination and Verification:

·       Coordinate data collection efforts across multiple sources and departments.

·       Verify the accuracy and reliability of data from various sources.

·       Collaborate with other departments to understand their data and ICT needs and provide tailored support.

Operational Support Data:

·       Oversee database operations and related data collection software, conducting repairs, updates, and improvements.

·       Produce and compile detailed qualitative and quantitative reports, including analysis, reporting, and visualization of program data.

·       Conduct regular training for program staff to improve data collection quality.

·       Provide quality control and oversight of collected data, addressing errors in collection or input.

·       Oversee data collection processes for activities, including assessments, registration, verification, and monitoring.

·       Develop centralized data management systems and ensure proper utilization at all levels.

·       Provide technical guidance on data capture processes and supervise these processes.

·       Ensure data protection policies are applied, and staff are aware of data protection protocols, including proper filing and archiving of documents and databases.

ICT Support:

·       Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.

·       Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications.

·       Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

·       Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and peripherals.

·       Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating complex problems as necessary.

·       Conduct training sessions to improve end-user proficiency with ICT tools.

Implementation and Quality Assurance:

·       Implement the ICT plan for the programme location.

·       Ensure quality assurance in line with ICT standards, policies, and guidelines.

Support and Training:

·       Assist the National ICT Manager in developing and leading the ICT network, fostering knowledge sharing, and capacity building.

·       Evaluate IT skills and create suitable training material with the National ICT Manager.

·       Train co-workers, caregivers, youths, and children on IT skills.

Inventory Management:

·       Maintain up-to-date records of IT inventory.

Additional Responsibilities:

·       Perform other ICT-related tasks as assigned, including implementing any ICT and related projects in the defined location in collaboration with the ER Project Manager.

Child Safeguarding (CS)

  • Responsible within own area of work to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination
  • Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the IOR CS focal person and/or to the respective line manager.

Qualifications and Competencies for the position:

  • University degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology Management
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the field of information technology management
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft based IT.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Good managerial, reporting and time-management skills.
  • A team player with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, innovative and service-oriented
  • Ability to work in stressful situations.

Preferred Additional Criteria

IT Management Certificates if available (ICDL, TCOBIT, ITIL, MTA, MOS, CCENT
