IT Engineers/Experts (Short Term)
AMIDEAST is an international, non-profit, educational organization headquartered in Washington D.C., with a network of field offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa including the West Bank and Gaza.
AMIDEAST and the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) are jointly implementing the Leadership and Teacher Development (LTD) Program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). LTD is a comprehensive education reform initiative focused on improving the quality of school education through an evidence-based approach to leadership and teacher development.
The Ministry, and in cooperation with the Leadership and Teacher Development Program (LTD) and AMIDEAST, is working toward developing the use of IT in the Ministry’s management and function, including human resources, archiving, communication across the system, and various databases for planning and training at the three levels: schools, districts and the central administration.
AMIDEAST and the MOEHE are seeking to hire for short-term period (3 months) for the following position to be based at the MoEHE offices in Ramallah.
Data base Expert/Developer (1 vacancy)
Responsibilities:
Provides Oracle, SQL Server, or other database development. Creates Tables, Views, constraints, Indexes and SQL joins and query writing. Designs and creates reports using SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports or a similar industry reporting tools. Designs SSIS or ORACLE packages to import and transform data between databases and external data sources and conversion of DTS packages. Writes stored procedures, functions, and triggers to meet new features to be incorporated in the system to implement business rules. Analyzes, designs, builds and tests OLAP cubes with SSAS, Oracle OBIEE, or similar tools.
Qualifications and Requirements:
-Minimum BSc Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems.
-At least 5 years proven experience as database expert and database developer on multiple database environments like MS SQL, Oracle, and open source database engines.
-At least two years proven experience in implementing new BI tools from both Microsoft and Oracle (like MS SSIS, SSAS, OLAP, SSRS, and DTS packages, and/or Oracle OBIEE).
-Strong analytical skills.
-Good spoken and written English.
-Effective communication skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
