Position title: Database Administrator
Project Duration: 6 months
MA’AN Development Center is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is located in Ramallah and the four branch offices are located in Gaza, KhanYounis, Tulkarem and Jenin. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
In partnership with DCA, MA’AN is implementing the project of “Humanitarian response to child protection and health risks in Gaza” under the result: “To provide for protection, alleviate suffering and promote rights of children in the ARA in the Gaza Strip”. The activities include food and hygiene vouchers, nutritional education, hygiene awareness, contingency planning, and supplies and maintenance for the purpose of enhancing children safety and security.
MA’AN Development Center is seeking a qualified candidate to work as a Database Administrator. The vacancy will be based in the Gaza Strip. The Database Administrator will work under the direct supervision of the project coordinator and the M&E officer. The main tasks and responsibilities include:
- Assisting in database design
- Setting up and testing database and data handling systems
- Supervise the data entry process and handling data entry tasks
- Monitoring database efficiency
- Sustaining the security and integrity of data
- Perform other duties as required.
Directly Reporting to: Project Coordinator and the M&E Officer
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of responsible experience working in IT support, programming, or web development
- Experience with database software/web applications;
- Excellent understanding of MSOffice

- Strong analytical and organizational skills;
- Eye for detail and accuracy;
- The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and donors.
Education: at minimum a Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or information systems, computer engineering or other relevant discipline.
