IREX seeks a Deputy Chief of Party to provide technical and management support to the USAID-funded Partnerships with Youth program in the West Bank. This position reports to the Chief of Party.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Work closely with Chief of Party to provide vision and strategic guidance to the project;
Supervise and mentor the program staff team, including technical staff and grants management staff.
Oversee and work closely with program staff to ensure successful day-to-day management and seamless integration of project activities, including overseeing activities, leading meetings, and providing guidance to staff;
Develop and monitor work plans to ensure deliverables are being met and support staff to adhere to plans and deadlines;
Ensure that best practices in youth development are employed consistently across the implementation of all activities; build capacity of staff and partners in positive youth development and service learning;.
Maintain familiarity with cooperative agreement requirements and monitor compliance, deliverables, and deadlines;
Oversee effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of project activities; ensure that reporting and outreach is focused on results and impact;
Represent IREX and support its organizational development; and,
Other duties as assigned that contribute to the overall success of the project.
Skills and Qualifications:
Candidates need a minimum of seven years of progressive management experience in the following areas:
Designing and managing donor-funded programs; experience with U.S. government-funded educational programming preferred;
Demonstrated program management expertise; excellent understanding of USG regulations and compliance issues;
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff, prepare and manage workplans, and plan strategically and creatively to meet specified objectives;
Experience designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans and analyzing data;
Experience designing and implementing youth development programs; strong knowledge and experience in best practices in youth development programming
Superior writing, editing, and oral presentation skills, evidenced by professional experience;
Experience with program reporting, communications and outreach
Strong organizational skills including ability to prioritize and multi-task; and,International work and/or educational experience preferred.
Arabic language skills a plus
