Deputy Chief of Party, Civic Participation Program

Catholic Relief Services is an international aid agency and has been present in the Jerusalem, West Bank, and Gaza for over 50 years. The CRS JWBG country program currently supports development/relief programs and activities in the sectors of humanitarian assistance, civil society, youth development, education, and peace & justice.

Position Title: Deputy Chief of Party, Civic Participation Program
Reports To: Chief of Party, Civic Participation Program

Note:
This position is dependent upon funding as well as the donor’s approval of the proposed Deputy Chief of Party. The applicant must be willing to commit to an assignment of no less than three years.

Background:
CRS is seeking applicants for the Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) position for an anticipated USAID Civic Participation Program in the West Bank.

Job Responsibilities:

The DCoP will work closely with the COP in overseeing program operations. The incumbent will also be responsible for the technical direction and oversight of the civic participation grants component of the program. S/he will be expected to interact regularly with project and USAID Mission staff, as well as with civil society partners and all stakeholders to the program.

Qualifications and Skills
1-A Master’s degree in social sciences, community development, communications, business, international development, and/or other related field.
2-At least ten (10) years of experience in the above-mentioned or related fields. Solid experience working in engagement of civil society actors in the JWBG, capacity development, training, community organizing, policy advocacy, or other relevant fields is required. References for the last seven years of work experience are also required and will be verified.
3-The DCOP must be able to demonstrate experience managing staff and projects in the area of civil society development.
4-Knowledge of the Middle East Region.
5-References for the last three years of work experience are required and will be verified.
6-English and Arabic language proficiency.
