Position: Deputy Gaza Director
Type: Full-time 35 hours/week
Location: Cairo, Gaza or West Bank
Contract: 6 - 8 months (Fixed-term contract)
Salary: £66,000 Circa
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement, in the Gaza Strip.
MAP is currently experiencing a period of rapid growth, which is partly in response to the ongoing crisis in the occupied Palestinian territory. This role is being created to provide additional management and leadership support during this crucial time. You will work closely with and deputize the Director of Gaza while they are based in Egypt and preparing for the expansion of MAP's operations and programs.
As part of your role, you will collaborate with the Director of Gaza to drive work in key areas related to MAP's organizational scale-up. This will include overseeing program and operational scale-up in the Gaza Strip, as well as managing and supporting the Gaza team and planning

- You must have substantial, demonstrable experience at senior management level in a humanitarian context and experience of living in the oPt or in the Middle East is essential.
- Experience in programme management, design, risk assessment and security management as is experience working in the voluntary sector or INGOs and in supporting the development of local organisations.
- You must be fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English.
- You must be able to live and work in Egypt, the package for this role includes flights, accommodation and insurance
