Job Title: Development Project Manager
Duty station: Tubas, Hebron or Ramallah, with frequent visits in all West Bank offices
Reports to: Head of Operations
Accountable to : Head of Operations
Work in Coordination with: Area managers, program unit
 
WeWorld-GVC (WW-GVC) is an independent Italian organization emerged from the union between GVC NGO (constituted in Bologna in 1971) and WeWorld (founded in Milan in 1999), with the aim of increasing the impact of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid projects in 29 countries, including Italy. 
WW-GVC is one of the implementing partners for the project funded by SIDA, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. The main objective of the project is that Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are protected from forcible transfer and increase their resilience.
 
Summary of Key Functions and Responsibilities
The project manager main responsibilities are: managing, coordinating, supervising, monitoring and reporting on the activities related to the assigned projects. 
 
Specific responsibilities:
  • Oversee project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to WeWorld-GVC, donor and other applicable timeframes and formats.
  • Oversee all tender processes and ensure timely procurement of required project inputs and materials, in coordination with the Proc-Log Coordinator.
  • Track the progress of activities, ensure the collecting of program indicators and provide on-time internal status reports and external donor reports.
  • Participate in project evaluations and assist in the analysis of the results, assess project impact and effective use of resources, in coordination with the MEAL department.
  • Prepare ToRs and guidelines for projects’ consultants and review the relative outputs (assessments, researches, trainings, etc.)
  • Provide supervision, guidance and monitoring for project staff, ensuring clarity over project plans and priorities and encouraging effective team work. 
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings to ensure awareness of project objectives, and opportunity for feedback 
  • Manage the project budget for the assigned projects and ensure all expenses are according to budget, in coordination with the Finance Department;
  • Meet WeWorld-GVC standards with regard to financial management, including accountability and good governance
  • Develop, supervise and coordinate a yearly work plan, as well as detailed monthly activity plan under the supervision of the Head of Operations; as well feed the redaction of the monthly Situation Report;
  • Support the design and development of new project proposals, when relevant;
Communication and coordination:
  • Participate in relevant coordination meetings within the West Bank Protection Consortium, including Consortium Management Unit and other working groups, when required, and feed back to the Head of Operations and Head of Programs;
  • Develop and maintain appropriate, regular, transparent and supportive communication with the assigned project staff, and the Head of Operations as well as other relevant stakeholders (e.g. beneficiaries, community leaders, local and national government officials, UN agencies and other NGOs), with the objective of ensuring good cooperation and partnerships.
General:
  • Deliver high quality results in line with WeWorld-GVC strategy and standards, to maintain the reputation of the organization into all coordination and other working groups.
  • Comply with WeWorld-GVC policies and procedures with respect to code of conduct, safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • To perform other responsibilities as agreed with the line management

متطلبات الوظيفة
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably with INGOs with solid background about local humanitarian and developmental context in Palestine.
  • University degree in relevant specialization like sustainable development, social science, environment, etc.
  • Competency in project management, including the ability to apply the right project tools and techniques (management science).
  • Proven experience and competence in at least one of the following topics: local economic development, community empowerment, social business development, resilience, livelihoods.
  • Proven familiarity with the concepts of LRRD and Triple Nexus
  • High interpersonal skills (management art) including but not limited to team building, communications, problem solving, facilitation, etc.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Valid driving license, manual gear one is preferable
