Director for SOS Childrensvillage

SOS Children’s Villages Palestine is a non-governmental social development organisation working to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of orphaned and vulnerable children since 1966.The organisation has a wide range of programmes (in West Bank and Gaza) which include children's villages, a youth facility, family s trengthening programmes, kindergartens and schools, psychosocial-support mobile station.

We are looking for a Village director for SOS Children’svillage - Rafah.
The village director leads the SOS Children’s village. He co-ordinates all village activities and   is responsible and accountable for the overall development of the SOS Children’s Village. The village director assures the quality of child care within the framework of the SOS family child-care model. He ensures the development of all village co-workers. He ensures the implementation of the organisation’s policies and guidelines, effective planning, evaluation, reporting and financial management. The Village Director must live within the Village and be available for the children any time of the day or night.

THE CHALLENGE
-Ensuring the overall development of the SOS Children’s Village
-Guiding and supporting SOS Children’s Villages' co-workers.
-Guiding SOS mothers and SOS families.
-Guiding and supporting SOS youth care co-workers.
-Promoting strong and long-term partnerships with communities
-Contributing to the development of the National Association

YOUR PROFILE:-
-At least University degree in social sciences (management/leadership, HRM, educational sciences, psychology, social).
-Leadership experience at a senior management/executive level.
-strategic thinking, planning & budgeting, acting & reporting
-pedagogical and psychological knowledge and skills
-basic comprehension of child, youth and family development
-knowledge of national child welfare and child rights/child protection
-Knowledge and comprehension of the tasks areas of SOS mothers and SOS youth care co-workers.
-Leadership competences(willingness to make decisions, ability to delegate, teamwork)
-Age between 35-40 years old.
-Willingness to make a long-term commitment and to live within an SOS Children’s Village.
