Title: Director, Information Technology Department

General description
The Director of Information Technology’s primary responsibility is to oversee the streamlined operation of the IT department and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the organization. This individual’s principal goals are to develop and manage application portfolios for each department and to attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization. The Director of IT will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The Director of IT will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Academic Requirements
BA or MA in the field of computer science or computer engineering or information systems. Master of Management Information System with technology as a core component and technical certificates are preferred.
Practical Experience
At least twelve years related work experience with a BA degree, or eight years related work experience with MA degree, a part of which must be in a supervisory capacity. International experience is a distinct advantage.

Functional and Organizational Skills
-Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, organization, administration and management.
-Knowledge of state of the art developments in Information Technology.
-Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of the technical staff.
-Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing.
-Ability to make sound decision in manner consistent with the essential job function.
-Knowledge of business theory, business processes, budgeting, and business office operations.
-Strong leadership skills.
-Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
-Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
-Strong knowledge and experience in managing and/or directing an IT operation.
-Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development.
-Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
-In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT.
-Excellent modern management skills and ability to utilize international best practices to ensure best performance of the Division’s staff.
-Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
-Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Language Skills
Operationally fluent in both Arabic and English, both in speaking and in writing
