AMIDEAST, is an international, non-profit, educational organization in the West Bank and Gaza with offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa. AMIDEAST is recruiting for a Director of Monitoring & Evaluation for a USAID-funded project to be based in its Ramallah office. The selected candidate will provide impact evaluation work that is used to attribute changes in the well-being of individuals, and education communities to particular project interventions.

Director of Monitoring & Evaluation

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will provide intellectual, technical and managerial leadership to AMIDEAST’s USAID-funded project.

The essential functions of the position include:

-Coordinate and lead research M&E initiatives, including longitudinal case studies and extensive qualitative research, as well as quantitative measures.
-Provide technical expertise on M&E to the Ministry of Education, AMIDEAST staff, and partners.
-Serve as a liaison to the Ministry of Education with regard to program-related M&E activities.
-Conduct needs assessments, cost/benefit analysis, policy analysis, process monitoring, and formative/summative evaluation.
-Ensure the application of learning from M&E in program design and implementation.
-Write and review M&E reports in English and Arabic from program units.
-Manage and update information management systems for program monitoring.
-Mentor junior M&E staff, and participate in professional and staff development activities.

Qualifications:
-Master’s degree in education, sociology or similar social science. PhD preferred.
-Knowledge of and experience working with the Ministry of Education.
-Extensive experience in qualitative M&E methodology, with professional competency in quantitative M&E
-At least 10 years of practical working experience in planning, monitoring, evaluation and research.
-Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and grow staff.
-Fluency in Arabic and good knowledge of both written and spoken English.
