Position:Disability Officer       Responsible to:Project manager

HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL is an international organisation specialised in the field of disability.  Non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-profit making, it works alongside people with disabilities, whatever the context, offering them assistance and supporting them in their efforts to become self-reliant. Since its creation, the organisation has set up programmes in approximately 60 countries and intervened in many emergency situations

PROJECT SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE :

Persons with disabilities can access to holistic physical rehabilitation services in the West Bank.

THE PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Disability Officer will be  responsible for:
 
-Developing of a network with disability service providers, disability organizations ( DPOs) and stakeholders.
-Identification, selection, training and financial support to local organisations and partners on accessible transport system.
-Organizing advertising campaigns to inform PWDs and their families about disability services
-Publishing a comprehensive directory about rehabilitation services in the West Bank
-Field implementation the initial and final survey on PWDs with partners on status of access to physical rehabilitation services.
 
Skills required:
 
-Bachelor Degree in Human Rights, Social Work or relevant feild.
-Fluent in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
-Excellent computer skills, especially in the use of publisher and Access
-Background in project cycle management, especially logical frameworks
-Experience in designing and implementing trainings and leading awarness compaigns.
-Willingness to travel  along the West Bank.
-Excellent communication skills
-Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
-Experience in the humanitarean and development sector in the West Bank is an asset
