Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Trainer
Introduction
IMC is implementing DRR programming to strengthen emergency response capacities during and resilience after a natural hazard. IMC is working to empower local partners and humanitarian actors’ during and after a disaster. Scaling up community capacity is one of DRR department objective where training activities will include IMC’s partners to build their DRRM skills and understanding in terms of manage disaster and reduce risks to ensure the protection of vulnerable groups, especially including women and children, before and during disaster response to enhance community resilience considering the Sendai Framework. Training has outcomes as the followings:
IMC is seeking individual consultant/trainer, to conduct training of Disaster risk reduction management
DRR Project Background
Under BHA fund, DRR project aims to strengthen emergency response capacities during and resilience after a natural hazard. and reducing disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disruption of basic services at the community level. DRR project seeks to increasing of community preparedness capacity that leads to reduce risk of mortality and morbidity during natural disasters

Location: Gaza Strip
Training objective
- Address prevention and protection action,
- Contribute to reduce the number of people affected by disasters
- Reducing disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disruption of basic services at the community level.
- Create communication concept to ensure high coordination level
Support DRRM team have been formed from IMC partners members
- Enhance leadership skills for DRRM team partner through
- Provide participants with managerial, communication and leadership skills
At the end of the course, participants will Enhance capacity for Disaster Risk Reduction and Response (DRRR) teams, responsible for mapping natural disaster risks and developing contingency plans and coordinating with IMC to sensitize communities to DRR concepts. Each team will be based in a CBO with an assigned permanent DRRR focal point. Composing team has to promote women’s participation in the teams and each team is representative of the community.
Participants will gain:
- developed a solid understanding of DRRM key concepts, models, and frameworks
- understood the importance of adopting a people-centered approach to DRRR
- the confidence to put into practice the most recent learning and knowledge around DRRM
- increased participants skills in managerial, communication, planning and leadership skills.
Training Schedule
The training topics will be covered in four full day (Total of 72 hours) for 120 trainees divided into 3 groups for each governorate, each group 40 trainees (24 Hours*3 Groups* and total is 72 hr.).
For this, IMC encourage individual consultant/trainer and NGOs to apply for this training offer, which is detailed in following aspects:
Deliverables
- Conduction of 72 training hours for all governorates for 120 trainees.
- conduct Pre and post assessment to evaluate knowledge improvement. (Should be approved by IMC).
- Training educational materials as soft and hard copy (Should be approved to IMC).
Tasks
- Formulation of the training module including mentioned topics above.
- Design and submit the training schedule.
- Design pre and post assessment form to measure trainees’ knowledge
- Write and submit the training report and other supporting documents.
- Communicate with IMC program staff for any logistic or technical support.

Trainer Qualifications
- Recognized registration certificates in related field.
- Experience in related field for 8 years at least.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree and accredited professional training related to training subjects
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Excellent Reporting skills (English and Arabic).
- Excellent understanding of Palestinian context.
