Medicos del Mundo–Spain (MdM-S) needs to cover a DRIVER position for its Gaza Strip Field Office.

MISSION
To assist in the implementation and logistics of MdM-S projects in Gaza. The main tasks will be focused on transport of MdM staff and goods according to MdM-S procedures.

MAIN TASKS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-To drive MdM-S staff and material resources safely to field locations throughout the Gaza Strip.
-To keep vehicles logistics updated, daily mileage, liability waiver and fuel top-ups records.
-To ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, car washing, etc.
-To ensure the availability of all the required documents including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs books, office directory, map of the city, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle.
-To ensure that all immediate actions required by safety and security regulations are taken.
-To communicate and report any security incident or accident to the MdM-S Project Coordinator.
-To ensure the proper maintenance and monitoring of MdM-S equipment, stocks and premises.
-To support all necessary administrative actions ensuring its good performance under MdM-S guidelines.
-To assist MdM-S staff in any logistics and transportation requirements related to MdM-S project implementation.

LOCATION

Permanent base: MdM-S premises in Gaza City.
Geographical coverage: Gaza Strip, especially focused at Khan Yunis and Gaza Governorates.

SUPERVISION AND WORKING RELATIONS

The DRIVER will develop his/her duties on a team work basis under the supervision of MdM-S Gaza Project Coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS

-Valid driving License with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and a good driving record.
-Wide Knowledge of vehicle mechanics.
-Wide knowledge of the roads and main locations in the Gaza Strip.
-Fluent Arabic and English.
-Computer skills in Microsoft Office will be an asset.

EXPERIENCE
-A minimum of 2 years of working experience at NGO sector.

-Good communication skills.
-Ability to address and resolve conflicts.
-Good organization and planning skills.
-Available to work overtime or at weekends upon prior request.
-Willing to learn and participate on MdM-S activities.

TERMS&CONDITIONS

Contract Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension
Workday: Full time position, 40 hours per week.
Starting Date: February 2016.
Salary: Under MdM-S salary scale for national staff.
