The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has been active in the West Bank and Gaza for 28 years. Under its new Cooperation Programme 2021-2024 SDC wishes to recruit immediately in its office in East-Jerusalem a

DRIVER (part time) - 40%

We are seeking to appoint a Part Time Driver to join the Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO). The successful candidate will be required to drive a range of vehicles.  Part time Driver executes secure and timely transport operations of all kind (persons, goods, documents) as requested by the Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO).  The Driver would also be required for regular vehicles check, maintain and refuel vehicles on demand and to report on any incidents, anomalies related to SCO’s fleet. The driver shall have all necessary records, licenses, skills and experience to execute such missions. He/ she must fulfill all requirements to drive diplomatic “CD” vehicles, including armored vehicles in the Westbank, Gaza, Israel, and Jordan.  He/ she reports to the Office Administrator.

Essential skills and qualifications:

• Holder of valid driving license (C1)
• Holder of all necessary documents to operate SDC vehicles including armored car in all area of operation (in occupied Palestinian territory, includes Gaza, in Israel, in Jordan).
• Highest command of driving rules and regulations
• 5 years of relevant experience, good knowledge of the terrain and context and have a clean driving license record
• Holder of high school diploma
• Available to work on irregular hours (including nights and weekends)
• Technical knowledge of vehicles repair and maintenance
• Good knowledge of Jerusalem and West Bank roads system
• Service-oriented and high level of personal responsibility

Further assets:

• Excellent command of Arabic, good command of spoken English and Hebrew
• Good writing skills in English and Arabic
• Good knowledge of computer software’s (Excel and word)
• Experience with similar offices/ UN Agencies
