Driver

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.

The ICRC office in Ramallah, is seeking qualified and motivated candidate to fill in the following position: 

Driver

Place of Employment       :  Ramallah

Contract duration             : Open-ended (including 3 months’ probationary period)

Occupation rate               :  100%

Starting Date                    :  August 2024

  Main Responsibilities:

• Drives different types of light ICRC vehicles by strictly following internal security and national traffic rules
• Transport goods and people in Israel and the West Bank, exceptionally also during evening times and weekends
• Checks equipment on attributed cars, ensures proper fueling and cleaning
• Moves independently in difficult security environments
• Assumes specific administrative tasks

Post Requirements:

• Israeli ID Holder is a must
• Primary school level
• Valid Israeli Driving License. Heavy Vehicle driving license is an asset.
• 8 years' work experience in a similar function
• Good knowledge of spoken English & Arabic. Hebrew is an asset
• Driving license for at least 10 years
• Flexibility in working hours
• Excellent knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
• Masters 4/4 driving and VHF use
• Basic mechanical skills
• Basic computer skills
