Project Description:
CNFA is a not-for-profit international agricultural development organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. and dedicated to empowering farmers and rural entrepreneurs to improve their livelihoods and increase their incomes. CNFA assists smallholders to increase household-level food security and nutrition through improved agricultural practices, introduction of new varieties, diversification of crop production, food preservation and storage, development of farmer-based organizations, and strengthened linkages to markets. CNFA has a track record of implementing successful agricultural development programs in 47 countries.
Position Summary:
CNFA is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a driver position for the USAID Quality Technologies Revitalizing Agriculture (Q’tra). The purpose of this activity will be to work with farmers in the West Bank and Gaza (WBG) to improve climate-resilient conservation and management of freshwater resources and associated ecosystems by increasing the availability, quality, and environmental resilience of drinking water supply sources. The duration of this Activity will be five years.
Position Description:
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Driver will be responsible for Operating CNFA vehicles as assigned by the supervisor. Maintain vehicle log-sheets in accordance with Field. The Driver position is based in Gaza.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate CNFA vehicles as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain vehicle log-sheets in accordance with Field Fleet Management Policy.
- Check the vehicle conditions after each trip/routinely – report needs and problems the supervisor.
- Responsible for the safekeeping of all vehicle equipment, tools, first aid kits, spares etc.
- Keep the vehicle ready, clean and ready for use.
- Assist, as required, with logistics in the office and other tasks as necessary.
- Report all maintenance needs of the vehicle to Supervisor respectively on a regular basis.
- Undertake field assignments as assigned.
- Ensure that all personnel wear a seatbelt and that the total number of passengers is within legal limits.
- Ensure all passengers adhere to the project’s vehicle use policy.
- Perform other tasks defined by the supervisor.

- High School Degree
- A valid Palestinian driver’s license is required.
- Minimum of 3+ years or more related experience
- A good driving record and an understanding of auto mechanics are required.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations in the Gaza Strip is required.
- Good command of Arabic and basic knowledge of and ability to read and write English is required; good command of spoken Hebrew is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the Gaza.
