Position: Driver – Shifa Hospital

Type: Full-time, (2 months fixed-term contract with possibility of extension)

Location:  North of Gaza, Palestine 

Salary: ILS 3,752 per month

Reporting to: Medical Activity Manager

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting staff, visitors, documents, and goods safely to designated destinations while adhering to traffic regulations and MAP's vehicle policies. Key responsibilities include maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness, reporting accidents and maintenance needs promptly, and keeping accurate logbook entries. The candidate will coordinate repairs, ensure necessary documents and equipment are in the vehicle, and conduct regular maintenance checks. They will monitor fuel consumption, follow all driving safety regulations, assist with local purchases, and handle vehicle-related issues with authorities.

متطلبات الوظيفة

We’re looking for someone with previous driving experience, preferably with an NGO, and experience in humanitarian or recovery contexts, particularly in complex and volatile environments. They should have basic auto mechanic skills and the ability to communicate in English. A valid driver’s license and the ability to represent the organization effectively with external stakeholders are also required.
