Education Officer
Enabel is the Belgian development agency working under the mission to implement and coordinate the Belgian international development policy. The Palestinian Territory is the fourth recipient of the Belgian Development Cooperation. The Palestinian Authority and Belgium work together to reduce poverty and to build a more sustainable and fair society. Since 1997, Belgium has been supporting the development activities and emergency interventions in the Palestinian Territory. Education, mental health, TVET and local governance are the main sectors. Furthermore, Enable also implements different projects for the European Union.
Enabel will start to implement a project funded by the European Union titled “Enhance resilience for micro businesses and create sustainable livelihood opportunities– SAWA”; which aims to contribute to economic resilience in the West Bank through enhancing the resilience and sustainability of micro businesses and initiating sustainable and innovative green/circular and digital economy initiatives.

Job description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific results areas: no. 1 – Field Officer (60%)

Ensure close technical support and follow-up of activities’ implementation partners.

Ensuring the planned activities are conducted according to action plans and properly documented first hand.

Follow up technical and financial reporting with partners on the ground.
Specific results area: no. 2 - As Facilitator (20%)

Follow up the field activities on regular basis,
-
Contributing to problem solving and decision making in coordination with your N+1

Facilitate communication and close collaboration between stakeholders,
-
Support to procurement of new projects, including drafting of terms of references of deliverables.
Specific results area: no. 3 – As Quality Assurance (20%):

Ensure quality service/activities conducted with direct beneficiaries.

Monitor and revise the progress reports and work with partners on their quality.

Ensuring availability of all necessary supporting documents financial and technical (in collaboration with respective departments

Monitor the performance deadlines and ensure they are timely extended, if necessary.

Your profile
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
To be appointed for the above-mentioned opportunity, the candidate shall meet the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Diploma and/or level of education required for the job:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, science, technology or any of the humanities and arts.
Experience required for the job:
- Minimum 2 years of postgraduate experience in implementing activities for a development project/programme in grassroots, civil society, and/or international agencies.
- Proven experience in the area of project management, coordination and report writing.
- Grant management
- Good communication skills and a proactive team player
- Critical, innovative and problem solving skills
Technical skills required for the job:
- Familiar with Project Management/ Result Based Management
- Tech-savvy
- Good IT skills (spreadsheet, word-processing)
- Proficient in Arabic and English
Specific competences or knowledge considered an asset:
- Permanent residency in Jerusalem is an asset,
- Experience in following up soft skills trainings (students, teacher), event management, STEAM related activities
- Experience in coordination of grants
- Car driver’s licence is an asset
- Expertise in green culture training
