Education Program Coordinator
Background:
Arena’s education program has focused on early childhood development (ECD), but has also included infrastructural development for primary, secondary, and tertiary education sectors. We have also provided specialist training for university graduates.
Over the past fifteen years, our ECD program renovated and built two hundred kindergartens; trained over a thousand teachers and worked with thousands of parents to improve the care and education of children in the community. Anera was instrumental in developing Palestine’s first kindergarten curriculum with the Ministry of Education. In Gaza, in recent months, we helped establish and support tens of temporary learning spaces (TLSs) and have begun to re-establish existing kindergartens to support K–6 children. Where possible, we also provide recreational activities, PSS, health, and nutritional support to children in schools and shelters.
Anera is looking to strengthen its program and seeks an education program coordinator to assist its team on the ground to manage and grow this vital work.
Key tasks/Responsibilities:
Working with the Anera team, the coordinator will undertake the following tasks:
- Help identify initiatives and community organizations to support
- Assist in developing concept notes and budgets
- Participate in the planning and implementation of educational activities
- Work with colleagues to integrate other activities, such as PSS, to support students
- Support partner organizations and staff in delivering high-quality interventions for students
- Collate and develop educational materials for students and teachers
- Oversee the implementation of education activities, ensuring project objectives and targets are met
- Represent the organization in education cluster meetings and humanitarian forums
- Oversee the collection of monitoring information in support of the MEAL team
- Assist in report writing and documentation of activities
- Develop and deliver capacity-building training for teachers and other staff where needed
- Undertake generic project management tasks, including procurement and logistics as necessary

Person Specifications:
Anera is seeking a highly motivated individual with appropriate qualifications and work experience, including:
- Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in education
- A master’s degree in education or a related field such as ECD
- At least five years of teaching experience
- Demonstrable experience in developing learner resources
- Experience in developing learner monitoring tools
- Three years of work experience in an NGO or CBO working on educational projects – to include management of educational activities, compiling concept notes and reports
- Project finance – budgeting and reporting experience
- Excellent Arabic and English language skills
