The Norwegian Refugee Council is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced persons. We advocate for their rights and assist with shelter, education, food security, and information counselling & legal assistance.

Education specialists (national staff positions)
Gaza City
NRC works internationally in the field of education and intends to establish a new project to support UNRWA in the Gaza Strip. Following joint assessments/need analysis with UNRWA, NRC will engage where the greatest need is identified, for example, teacher-training; classroom management, special education, student councils, parent associations or recreational activities. In order to address children who have fallen behind in school structures, NRC is also examining the option of offering remedial and/or accelerated learning classes.
Qualifications and Experience
Suitably qualified persons with a minimum of 3 years, solid education sector experience in one or more of the above mentioned fields are invited to submit their CVs to be considered for one of a number of positions which will become available during September 2010.
Availible positions will include field officers, M&E officers and field coordinators.
Excellenct English language and computer literacy skills are a prerequisite for all current vacancies.

Contract period: 10 months, with possible extension
