A Child’s Cup Full Association is a non-profit women’s economic empowerment that aims to train and employ refugee and low-income women artisans in the West Bank to produce handmade, educational children’s materials for the global marketplace. According to the ILO, unemployment rates in the West Bank have increased over the past several years with rates as high as 63% for young women. Our mission is to create lasting economic opportunities for refugee and low-income communities in Palestine by creating jobs for women artisans to support themselves, their families, and their communities. Our artisan center is in Zababdeh, located in the northern West Bank, where poverty rates are disproportionally higher compared to the rest of the region.
Education Expert for education toys/aids development
Summary: looking to hiring an Early Years and Primarily Educational Expert. This individual will be working with Toy Designer and the women artisans in the CCF center to produce a line of educational materials for Early Years up to 4 grade students. We are looking for a creative and knowledgeable individual who is interested to identify learner materials for different educational philosophies such as Montessori, and Roggio Emilia, Waldorf and others
Responsibilities:
The expert should be able professionally to conduct the following
- Hands-on educational material should cover all areas of development for early years to forth grade.
- Develop a minimum of 30 new child friendly educational aids/toys designs with the 16 artisan women during the training sessions.
- Work closely with the designer in developing the different learning material concepts using only fabric.
- Write up a lesson plan for each toy with instruction and identify how such learning tool help the teacher meet the learning standard of the school, district or state.
- Responsible for carrying out tasks ranging from learning concept research, identify learning material, writing up lesson plan, and instructions of each learning tool.
- Carry out any additional duties as needed by the Executive Director and Program Manager.
Role: To identify educational materials that the designer can translate into samples and later productions. The tools should cover all possible areas of curricula (math, science, environment, languages etc) with varieties of tools for each area and different learning styles.
Qualifications:
- BAdegree in Education or Childs Development or solid background in product or industrial design, particularly in toys or any related field, has minimum of 3years’ of practical experience in the classroom and/or in the field.
- Experience designing hands-on, educational projects for kids
- Ability to communicate educational concepts to others and on paper.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic.
- Knowledge of Toy Safety Protocol is an asset.
- Good working knowledge on fabric manufacturing process and tooling (Injection Molding, Blow Molding and Rotational Molding)
- Proficient in 3D modeling on solid work
- Mastering Photoshop and ability to produce photo-realistic rendering and product created on solid work
- Able to travel to CCF center in Zababdeh village.
Duration:
This consultancy post is a part-time one, 24 hours/ week (6 hours per day 4 days a week) for a period of 6 months starting from January 15 2018
