Job Title: Electronic/ Bio-medical Engineer
Duty Station: Musallam Eye, Ear & Specialized Surgery Hospital, Ramallah, Palestine
Starting Date July 1st 1010
Duration of Contract: 12 months renewable (with a 3-month probation period)
Musallam Eye, Ear & Specialized Surgery Hospital in Ramallah is one of the most modern subspecialized 45 beds private hospitals in Palestine, It would provide a comprehensive eye, ENT,
maxillofacial, plastic and laparoscopic surgery to the entire regions in Palestine and would rank among the finest in the Arab world. Construction of the new building of the hospital is almost finished. On the 1st stage (August 2010) the Eye & ENT departments will start their activities. For Other departments, few months are needed for their commencement.

Due to growth in our medical services we now have an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Service
Engineer to work within the hospital in Ramallah. As the Biomedical Engineer you will be responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining a wide range of medical devices.

This role will include:
-Using electronic and medical engineering skills to Install, adjust, maintain, and/or repair biomedical & electronic equipment
-Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
-Advise hospital administrators on the planning, acquisition, and use of medical & electronic equipment.
-Advise and assist in the application of instrumentation in clinical environments.
-Diagnose and interpret bioelectric data, using signal processing techniques.
-Training nurses and senior hospital staff on using hi-tech medical equipments
-Responding efficiently to breakdown queries

Professional Knowledge & Qualifications:
-Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of staff within the hospital, vendors and suppliers. Demonstrated organizational, communication and project management skills. Ability to analyze unexpected problems with medical equipment and to resolve them with minimum disruption to the department.
-Proven ability in team working and skills in communication with and direct a wide variety of people including clinical staff, managers, and internal resource people (e.g., purchasing).
-Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships and communication with all levels of hospital staff and external agencies, vendors, and resources.
-Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills in and English
-Strong IT skills.

Education & experience:
-A Bachelor /Masters degree in medical/electronic Engineering.
-Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of a broad range of electronic test equipment and medical instruments.
-Familiarity with computer programming and operation.
-Four years relevant experience including exposure to Biomedical Engineering in a hospital environment required.
