Gaza Sky Geeks, established in 2011 by Mercy Corps with support from Google, is Palestine’s leading tech hub that trains, nurtures, and supports emerging tech talent to create a sustainable and inclusive digital job market in Palestine.

We are launching a series of Employability Skills workshops in the West Bank, that aim to cultivate and support Palestinian talents to generate sustainable, and meaningful income online, to fulfill this mission, we are looking for skilled & talented individuals to join our pool of instructors who will be in charge of delivering training and workshops as part of Gaza Sky Geeks Programs in the West Bank.

Employability skills workshops will include the following topics:

• CV writing and optimizing LinkedIn accounts.
• Interview Preparation.
• How to do an attractive presentation.
• Design thinking and problem-solving.

Employability skills trainer scope of work

1. Training Needs Assessment: Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to identify the specific employability skills that graduate in the technology field require to enhance their chances of securing their dream job. This assessment should focus on developing an attractive CV, optimizing their LinkedIn accounts, preparing for interviews, and acquiring the necessary skills and experience for the job.
2. Curriculum Development: Design a comprehensive training curriculum that addresses the identified needs of the graduates. The curriculum should be tailored to the time constraint of hours and cover the topics mentioned above.
3. Training Delivery.
4. Evaluation and Feedback.
5. Follow-up Support: Offer post-training support by providing participants with additional resources, such as articles, videos, and online communities, to enhance their employability skills further. Encourage participants to reach out with any questions or concerns after the training.

Skills needed to acquire the position:

1. Technical Knowledge: The trainer should have a solid understanding of the field of technology, including relevant concepts, terminology, and industry trends. They should be familiar with the specific skills and qualifications sought by employers in the technology sector.
2. Practical Experience: Practical experience through employment or relevant projects, is valuable. This experience allows the trainer to provide real-world insights, examples, and advice to the graduates.
3. Training and Facilitation Skills: The trainer should have experience in delivering effective training sessions and facilitating group discussions. They should be able to engage participants, encourage active participation, and create a supportive learning environment.
4. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for a trainer. They should be able to clearly explain complex concepts, provide constructive feedback, and tailor their communication style to the needs of the participants.
5. Curriculum Development: Experience in designing and developing training curricula is essential. The trainer should be able to identify the specific learning objectives, structure the content effectively, and create engaging training materials.
6. Knowledge of Employability Skills: The trainer should deeply understand employability skills. They should stay updated with current trends and best practices in these areas.
7. Coaching and Mentoring Skills: A trainer with coaching and mentoring abilities can provide personalized guidance and support to individual participants. This includes helping participants identify their strengths, addressing weaknesses, and setting achievable career goals.
8. Evaluation and Feedback: The trainer should be proficient in evaluating participants' progress and providing constructive feedback. They should be able to assess learning outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and adapt the training approach accordingly.
9. Empathy and Motivation: Empathy allows the trainer to understand and connect with the participants' needs, challenges, and aspirations. Additionally, the trainer should be skilled in motivating and inspiring participants to take proactive steps toward their career goals.
