Engineer Field Coordinator
Save Youth Future Society (SYFS) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent NGO founded in Gaza in 2001. SYFS work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the achievement of sustainable development, and which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
SYFS, with financial assistance of OCHA, starts a project “Safe, protective and enabling learning environment to improve the quality of education provided to particularly vulnerable 3-6 years old girls and boys” aiming at rehabilitation of kindergartens across the Gaza Strip. SYFS seeks to recruit for the following positions:
Title: Engineer Field Coordinator (2 positions)
Place: Save Youth Future Society, Gaza Office with frequent field work all over the Gaza Strip
Period: 6 months
Starting date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
1-Introduce and represent the project in the target communities, and establish community links.
2-Identify relevant partners and stakeholders in the targeted areas and maintain relations with them throughout the project.
3-Conduct detailed engineering needs assessment in the targeted kindergartens.
4.-Coordinate all project activities in the localities targeted by the project.
5-Conduct regular field visits ensuring the monitoring of proper implementation and to support the beneficiaries throughout the implementation process.
6-Provide the Project Coordinator with regular reports on the status of implementation and any required support.
7-Document all project activities as required by the Project Coordinator.
8-Perform any other necessary tasks.
Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience:
1-University degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
2-Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in similar field.
3-In-depth understanding of the assigned geographical area including its specific norms and issues.
4-Respect for confidentiality, as well as diplomacy and negotiation skills.
5-Advanced computer literacy.
6-Proven ability to work under pressure and within a team.
