BACKDROUND
QADER for Community Development is a non-profit organization based in Bethlehem and operating in Palestine since 2008. QADER focuses on the empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities through influencing public policies, developing capacities of relevant stakeholders, promoting public awareness and inclusive community practices, and enhancing economic participation of PwDs.
Within its Economic Empowerment Program, QADER is implementing the “Prosperity & Advancement for Young Women and Youth with Disabilities (SALALEM)” project in partnership with Catholic Relief Services as the lead implementing organization and with the funding of The Government of Canada. “SALALEM” is an innovative, five-year project that focuses on improving the skills and professional networks of young women and youth with disabilities, enabling them to enter and remain in the labor market. This project further seeks to build support from key influencers at home, workplace, and the community; create an enabling environment in which young women and youth with disabilities realize increased agency and self-reliance. Through SALALEM, young women and youth with disabilities in Gaza and the West Bank will become better prepared for jobs, and opportunities to contribute to the well-being of their families and communities. QADER is implementing the project in the West Bank and focusing on youth with disabilities.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Entrepreneurship & Business Development Trainer is responsible for the planning and delivery of the entrepreneurship skills training program to the project’s participants (youth with disabilities). S/he shall follow and maintain best practices in the implementation of the activities to ensure that the project’s results are delivered and achieved, and to contribute to enhancing the learning within the team and in the organization.
SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement activities on entrepreneurship and small business track in the project and ensure that the implementation schedules are met as per the detailed implementation plan (DIP), while maintaining adherence to QADER and CRS systems for quality project management.
- Deliver trainings and coaching on entrepreneurship and business development to the project’s participants, and covering the following: Business cycle, Market analysis, productivity plan, financial planning and profit analysis, pitching skills, and other topics as needed.
- Provide continuous technical support and coaching to the project’s participants to ensure that they prepare high quality business plans.
- Provide support in the delivery of life skills training as needed.
- Track and document the progress of the participants and keep the records up to date.
- Provide needed assistance to the MEAL Officer on the review and development of M&E tools for the entrepreneurship and business development interventions.
- Lead the continuous adaptations and enhancement of the program tools and approach to ensure their effectiveness and appropriateness to the project’s participants.
- Liaise with key stakeholders in the sector to create synergies and enhance the referrals of the project’s participants to specialized business development services, including access to finance.
- Provide support to the project team on areas related to labor market inclusion of PwD and economic empowerment, including communication, advocacy, preparation of position papers, policy papers, strengthening coalitions and networks, production of awareness materials, etc.
- Support the documentation of learnings and innovations promoted by QADER, CRS, partners and other actors in the area of economic empowerment (lessons learned, best practices, methodologies, approaches, success stories, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Minimum BA in business administration, entrepreneurship or relevant field.
- Proven previous experience in designing and delivering trainings and coaching on entrepreneurship and small business development services and skills, minimum 1 year.
- Experience in delivering culturally appropriate and gender-responsive trainings.
- Experience in delivering inclusive trainings that are adapted to and responsive to the specific needs of persons with disabilities, is a plus.
- Previous experience in delivering life skills training is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in delivering virtual training sessions.
- Demonstrated experience in livelihoods, youth economic empowerment. Experience in labor market inclusion of PwD is a plus.
- Demonstrated high team spirit with previous experience in managing / coordinating teamwork and team effort.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement.
- Demonstrated Experience in advocacy, and social behavior change communication.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent coordination and networking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with good command of spoken and written English language.
- Proficiency in using MS Windows, MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
