Environmental Officer

The Joint Service Council for Solid Waste Management in the Governorate of Ramallah and Al Bireh (JSCRAB) is a non profitable institution established in 2007. Its General Assembly consists of representatives of 67 Local Governmental Units (LGUs) existing in Ramallah and Al Bireh Governorate and it works in the geographic jurisdiction of the same Governorate. JSCRAB is planning to build and operate a sanitary landfill in the east side of the governorate using fund from German Government through (KFW). The JSC is committed according to its statute and according to the environmental approvals of the facilities to operate the facilities in a manner to mitigate and prevent environmental hazards from the facilities. Hence, the JSC should design, build, operate and close all facilities according to environmental standards. The JSC should monitor and report on environmental perform- ance indicators, as a result the council is seeking an:

Required Qualification:
Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, master degree is preferable, with at least three years professional work experience (preferably in the solid waste sec- tor, or environmental planning or monitoring and evaluation of environmental in- frastructure). Bachelor degree in other fields of environment will be considered provided that professional work experience is focused on environmental aspects of solid waste.
