Field Coordinator
Save Youth Future Society (SYFS) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent NGO founded in Gaza in 2001. SYFS work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the achievement of sustainable development, and which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
SYFS with financial assistance of OCHA, starts a project “Improved access to basic education of vulnerable school girls and boys in the Gaza Strip” aiming to improve access to basic education of particularly vulnerable school girls and boys in the Gaza Strip. SYFS seeks to recruit for the following positions:
Title: Field Coordinator
Place: Save Youth Future Society, Gaza office with frequent field work all over the Gaza Strip
Period: 6 months
Starting date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
- Introduce and represent the project in the target communities, and establish community links.
- Identify relevant partners and stakeholders in the targeted areas and maintain relations with them throughout the project.
- Conduct detailed needs assessment in the targeted schools and communities.
- Coordinate all project activities in the localities targeted by the project.
- Conduct regular field visits ensuring the monitoring of proper implementation and to support the beneficiaries throughout the implementation process.
- Provide the Project Coordinator with regular reports on the status of implementation and any required support.
- Document all project activities as required by the Project Coordinator.
- Perform any other necessary tasks.
Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree in Physiotherapist, Psychology, Education or related field.
- At least two years of relevant experience in similar field.
- Proven experience in working with children with special needs.
- Proven experience in working with schools in the Gaza Strip.
- In-depth understanding of the assigned geographical area including its specific norms and issues.
- Respect for confidentiality, as well as diplomacy and negotiation skills.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and within a team.
